Shanelle Van is an associate in the firm’s Washington, DC office. Her practice focuses on the intersection of export controls, sanctions, and white collar defense. She regularly advises clients on the application of international trade controls, including economic sanctions and export controls laws and regulations administered by the U.S. Departments of State, Commerce, and Treasury.

On September 29, 2025, the U.S. Commerce Department, Bureau of Industry and Security (“BIS”) issued an interim final rule titled Expansion of End-User Controls to Cover Affiliates of Certain Listed Entities (the “Affiliates Rule”).
